Meet Tobey Balzas, FNP
Tobey Balazs, MSN, FNP Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Tobey received her bachelor's in Biology with a minor in animal science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She became interested in Advanced Practice Nursing during her senior year, and was accepted into the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing as a student of the Accelerated Second Degree Program. She graduated from the program with her bachelor's in Nursing and her master's in Nursing. While earning her degrees, Tobey trained as a Cardiac and Thoracic Surgical Registered Nurse at the Medical College of Virginia. Tobey, grew up in Sterling, Virginia. Prior to joining Nova in 2006, she continued her training as a cardiovascular surgical nurse at the Winchester Medical Center, and volunteering at the Loudoun Free Clinic. Tobey is certified as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, Gamma Omega chapter.
